The Village of Chicago Ridge Public Works Department is seeking applicants for part-time Public Works Laborer. Key responsibilities include: performing unskilled labor in the Streets, Water and Sewer Divisions; operating a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of water, sanitary sewer, street, and storm drainage facilities and systems.

Primary Duties Include:

Perform pavement maintenance, repair, removal, and disposal;

Perform parkway/roadside maintenance removal of stump cuttings, back-filling, repairing, and seeding disturbed parkway areas;

Brush and bush trimming; mowing roadside vegetation and other public properties;

Assist with installing traffic control, street signage, and pavement markings;

Lift, carry, and/or wheel heavy material;

Setting up for special events;

Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Working knowledge of general public works labor activities;

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.;

Ability to read, clearly speak, and legibly write the English language;
