Work Requiring a Permit
A permit is necessary for any new construction, demolition, structural work, interior or exterior remodeling, an addition to their home, a new deck, patio, garage, dormer, fence, driveway, roof, or swimming pool. In addition, any electrical, plumbing, heating, or air conditioning work requires a permit.
Building Permit Applications
Building permit applications are available at the Village Hall any day Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can also print a building permit from the selection below.
Fees
The minimum residential building permit cost is $25. Additional fees are based on the amount of work being done and the estimated cost of construction.
Inspections
Inspections are required for most permits issued and must be requested 24 to 48 hours in advance. Inspections called in after 3 p.m. will be dated for the following day.

Contractor Registration
Registration Fee:
General contractors - $100.00
All other contractors - $75.00
Contractors must also submit:
$10,000 bond
Certificate of insurance with liability and workers compensation
Additional submissions:
Plumber - Copy of state plumbing contractor license
Electrician - Copy of electrical contractor license
Roofing - Copy of roofing license
