Commander of Investigations
Commander Jim Jarolimek
Jim, like the Chief and Deputy Chief, was raised in Chicago
Ridge where many of his family still reside. He attended Ridge
Central, Finley Junior High and he graduated H. L. Richards High
School in 1987.
Jim was hired by the Village of Richton Park as a police
officer in September of 1993. He was assigned to Investigations
as a Detective in January of 1996, where he worked until he left
in 1998 to work for the town he grew up in, Chicago Ridge. Jim
has held the ranks of Patrol Officer, Corporal, Detective, Sgt.
Detective, and is currently the Commander of Investigations,
promoted to that rank in 2006.
Jim has also been an evidence technician, field training
officer, and a member of the bike patrol unit since it began in
2001. In addition to being an investigator for Chicago Ridge,
Jim is assigned to the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
He has been a member of the task force since January 2004 and
was a group supervisor for them. Jim has been involved in over
fifty homicide investigations for one of the most highly
regarded task forces in the country.
Jim thanks the Village of Chicago Ridge for all of the
opportunities and experiences he has been involved in since
coming to work for them. He believes that the strong values of
the community are directly related to the time that the police
department dedicates in/to the schools. Jim was the juvenile
detective/officer assigned to the school liaison program from
November 2003 until May 2006 and is still a member of the Risk
Watch Program.
