Chief of Police
Chief Baldermann joined the Chicago Ridge
Police Department in April of 1988. Tim has held every position in the
police department over the past seventeen years. He has served as
Corporal (September 1993), Detective/Sergeant (June 1994), Commander (May
1996), Deputy Chief (September 1996) and was appointed Chief in August of
2001. Chief Baldermann earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Governor State
University. He is also a graduate of Northwestern University, School of
Police Staff and Command and the F.B.I. National Academy, 196th
Session.
Chief Baldermann has received numerous commendations and awards over his
career. For his work in investigations, Tim received international
recognition from the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association.
He is also a Sheriff’s Medal of Honor recipient and has been recognized
several times for his work in the field of Domestic Violence Prevention.
Tim is also the Founder/Chairman of Project P.R.O.T.E.C.T. (Promoting
Responsibility and Obligation To Enhance Community Togetherness). This
organization has raised tens of thousands of dollars for abused women and
children in our area. Project P.R.O.T.E.C.T. has also sponsored
successful drives for school supplies, clothing/food/toys for needy children
and blood for the American Red Cross.
