Chief of Police
Robert D. Pyznarski
Chief Rob Pyznarski was born and raised in Chicago Ridge where
he attended Our Lady of the Ridge Grammar school, graduating in
1972. Rob is a graduate of Marist High School, 1976 in Chicago,
Illinois. He continued his education earning his Bachelor's
Degree from Saint Xavier University, 1983 in Chicago, Illinois.
Rob continues to make Chicago Ridge his home, residing here with
his wife and family.
Chief Pyznarski joined the Chicago Ridge Police
Department in April of 1985 and has served in Chicago Ridge for
over twenty-five years. he obtained several ranks in his career;
as a Tactical Officer (November 1988), promoted to Detective
(June 1993), Sergeant (August 2000), Commander (August 2001) and
a Certified Juvenile Officer (June 2007) until he was appointed
Chief in July 2010.
Chief Pyznarski has received many commendations
and awards throughout his career in Law Enforcement, with the
Chicago Ridge Police Department. In addition, he has been
responsible for numerous felony arrest and convictions during
his investigative work.
Chief Pyznarski is the Founder/Chairman of
A.R.M.S. (Arms Reaching Many of Society). This organization's purpose is to
raise funds and sponsor drives to donate much-needed items such
as clothing, toys and food to local families in need. A.R.M.S. has
collected school supplies and provided the community schools
with the contributions. The Organization will host and sponsor a
Thanksgiving Day Dinner, at our local Glenn Maker Post 1160
American Legion Hall, for our Military Troops from the Great
Lakes Naval Base. In addition there will be other drives and
donations to local charities and groups.
Chief Pyznarski is a member of the South
Suburban Association Chiefs of Police (SSACOP), International
Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and Illinois Association
of Chiefs of Police (ILACP). He has also been a member of the
Chicago Ridge Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #12 for 26 years.
Chief Pyznarski is proud of his past service to
the citizens of Chicago Ridge, and looks forward to continuing
his service as the Chief of Police.
