The Chicago Ridge Fire Department has 19 full-time firefighter paramedics and 18 paid on call firefighters who provide emergency service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The Chicago Ridge Fire Department tests for full-time firefighter paramedic positions every two years and accepts paid on call applications year round.

The Chicago Ridge Fire Department provides a series of public education programs to the community which include but are not limited to:

• Home Fire Safety Inspection Programs

• CPR Training

• Blood Pressure Screening

• Smoke Detector Familiarization

• CO Detector Familiarization

• Fire Prevention Programs (Residential, school, business, institutional, industrial)

• Car Seat Safety Inspections (Please call for an appointment)
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• Knox Box Security Systems for Seniors

Our services include Fire, EMS, Haz-Mat,  Search and Rescue, Extrication and Public Education.

Remember Village Ordinance and Illinois State Law require that smoke detectors be installed and maintained in all residential living units.
