Building
Permit
Many residents are not aware of when they need
to secure a building permit. Most people realize that a
permit is necessary for any new construction, demolition,
structural work, interior or exterior remodeling, or an
addition to their home. But a permit is also required for a
new deck, patio, garage, dormer, fence, driveway, roof, or
swimming pool. In addition, any electrical, plumbing, heating
or air conditioning work requires a permit.
Building Permit Applications are available at
the Village Hall, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and
Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. You can also print a
Building Permit from the
Forms
and Permits page of the Reference Desk section of
the website.
Minimum Building Permit cost is $10.00. Fees are
based on the amount of work being done and the estimated cost of
construction.
Inspections are required for most permits
issued. Inspections called in after 3:00 pm will be dated for
the following day. Other permits that are available from the
Forms
and Permits page of the Reference Desk section of
the website are the Plumbing Permit, Mechanical Permit and
Electrical Permit.
