Caring for Carmen Benefit

In 2014 Carmen, was first diagnosed with breast cancer.  After her first aggressive battle with chemo, surgery, and radiation, she went in to remission.  She continued with follow up care, routine scans, appointments, and blood work.  In 2017, at only 37 years old, and only a month and half before her 3rd anniversary of her remission, she received the news that she had breast cancer AGAIN!  Carmen is now facing another battle with aggressive chemo, bilateral mastectomy, surgery, possible radiation, and reconstructive surgery.  She is devastated to have to go thru this again.  Carmen had to take a leave from her job as a nurse due to her illness.  We as her family and friends are hosting a benefit to raise funds to help relieve some of the financial burden that is building during treatment.  We hope that Carmen can focus on her health and not the financial struggle of medical bills.  Carmen is an amazing, selfless human.  She puts the needs of others before herself.  As a nurse she has always cared for others well-being.  She is a loving mother of four great children, Brianna, 19, Alanis and Mia, 8, and Jadiel, 6, and loving wife to Neil.  The greatest part of her life is her family.  Please find it in your heart to help support Carmen in this time of need.  She continues to carry a smile on her face and trying to live life to the fullest.  We would just like to make it easier for her to continue on that path.  For more information Contact: Katie Zernia 708-212-3860 or Mary Barker at 708-954-6697
