Food & Beverage Tax

Beginning January 1st of 2013, the Village of Chicago Ridge instated a Food & Beverage Tax on all applicable Village businesses. This tax requires any establishment considered as a "Prepared Food Facility" to remit a one percent (1%) tax on the purchase of any/all prepared foods and alcoholic beverages.

Collection Procedures
Food & Beverage Tax payments are due monthly.
Payment must be made by the 20th of each following month. (example: January payment due by February 20th).
Payments must be accompanied by copies of the following:
  • Chicago Ridge Food & Beverage Tax return form.
  • Illinois Tax Return used to calculate the amount due
Failure to submit payment by the 20th will result in a ten percent (10%) penalty applied to the amount due.
Refusal to comply or submit payments will result in a suspension or complete revocation of business license and an interruption in business operations.
